Staying at this ryokan was a mixed bag. While the dining experience was top-notch with incredible meals delivered to our room, the overall condition of the place left much to be desired. The room was a bit tired and not as clean as we'd hoped, and the onsen experience was quite disappointing due to cleanliness issues. If you appreciate great food, this ryokan might be worth it, but the accommodations could definitely use some improvement.

Service was adequate, with helpful staff during check-in, but not much interaction beyond that noted, especially after hours.

I was initially excited to stay in a ryokan for a traditional experience, but it turned out to be a mixed bag. While the food was outstanding and genuinely memorable, the facilities and overall upkeep left much to be desired. The location was fairly convenient, but not ideal for my first visit to the area. Overall, it's a budget option but not one I would recommend if you’re looking for a great onsen experience.

Rooms
5.0
The room had a tatami floor and shared bathrooms, and while it was clean, the futon was thin and uncomfortable. The atmosphere felt somewhat outdated, and I wish the furnishings were in better shape.
Service
7.0
The staff were hardworking and dedicated to the dining experience, but communication was limited due to language barriers.
Location
6.0
The ryokan was near a bus stop and train station, making it convenient to access other areas, but it felt a bit isolated.
Dining
10.0
The meals were incredible, with beautifully presented dishes and a traditional Japanese feast twice a day served in the room.
Facilities
5.0
The onsen facilities were lacking, with only two small private baths that required reservation. The overall cleanliness was not up to par, which was disappointing.

While the hotel offers incredible food and some charm, it falls short due to outdated facilities and cleanliness issues. The onsen experience was particularly disappointing, detracting from the overall enjoyment. If you’re focused on food, it’s worthwhile, but otherwise, keep looking for a better experience.

Rooms

The rooms were spacious but felt neglected, needing various repairs and updates. The futons were thin and not very comfortable.
Service

The staff worked hard to deliver meals and were attentive, but the overall service experience was marred by lack of information and poor communication.
Location

The location is a bit remote, not in the heart of Hakone, which made exploring the area challenging without proper guidance.

My experience at this ryokan was quite disappointing. While the food was amazing, the overall condition of the place really let it down. The room had a musty smell and felt neglected, and I was not impressed with the lack of amenities or cleanliness. The convenience of shared toilets and outdated facilities didn't help either.

Rooms
